Oxford 1-1 Northampton - Report & Highlights

1 - 1

Kassam Stadium

14/04/15; 7:45pm

Attendance: 4,836

Yet again Northampton were unable to build on, or hold onto at least, a lead that we had when we had to make do with a point at Chris Wilder's former club Oxford on Tuesday.

This one-one draw at the Kassam Stadium all but ends any slim, which they were anyway, chances of us making the play-offs this season....

Once more, at half time, things looked good for us with Toney's (38) freekick shortly before the break deceiving Oxford 'keeper Ashdown to send us in one-up.

With us unable to find a second, and deciding goal, we were always at risk of conceding an equaliser as we did in injury-time when MacDonald (90+1) scored to make it one-one and send us home having earned a point that would have felt like a defeat!

You can see more like this on officiallyntfc.

Now with just three-matches left, even though mathematically it's still possible, a seven-points gap to seventh will be too much to make up....

Cheltenham (h)

Season over or not we'll want to end strongly and get a result against relegation threatened Cheltenham, but will we?
