Northampton 1 - Mansfield Town 0

Sixfield

09/08/14; 3pm

Attendance: 5,202

Heads Up: Northampton 1-0 Mansfield

It's just one game, and you can't get carried away, but the suggestion is that Northampton will continue this season as they ended the last league 2 campaign?

Northampton got off to a winning start to the 2014/15 season with a 1-0 win over Mansfield Town at Sixfields on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors started well with Collins rippling the net, although this was the side netting!

At the time, against the run of play it is said, Mohamed (26) headed home a Carter corner to mark his debut with a goal and send us into the half time break one-nil up.

Further Cobblers goals should have come really with Carter twice going close himself and Toney, who burst onto the league 2 scene at the end of last season of course, guilty of a poor finish....

Richard might have also felt he should have scored but it didn't matter though as we started with a one-nil win.
