Horwood Deal Confirmed

Horwood Deal Confirmed

The anticipated arrival of Evan Horwood on a permanent contract was confirmed by Northampton on Wednesday.

Horwood ended last season on loan with the Cobblers but returned to his parent club Tranmere Rovers when 2013/14 ended as he was still under contract with the side relegated from league 1 into Northampton's league 2.

This was until earlier this week when a mutual agreement saw him leave Prenton Park to become a free agent.

Rumours of a return to Sixfields on a permanent basis soon, unsurprisingly, soon surfaced with a return confirmed, much to Chris Wilders delight with him aware of what he could do from his spell last season and he feels this will be carried on going forward.

Wilder told the official website: 'Evan did really well for us in the last 6 weeks of last season and we are pleased to have secured his signing.

'He did well as part of a solid defensive unit and we also saw the threat he can pose going forward.

'He enjoyed his time here and I think it is a good move all round. He is another important part of the squad who we are pleased to have signed.'

The left back has signed a two-year contract with the club with him a good signing isn't he that all must be happy with?
