Knill: No Pressure To Sell
Northampton have moved to deny reports that offered have been made for Ivan Toney.
The highly rated teenager striker, who shot to Cobblers fame last season when he helped the club avoid relegation from league 2 with some fine performances and vital goals, only put pen to paper on a new three-year contract earlier this summer.
Even so this hasn't stopped claims that other clubs have shown an interest in the teenager.
18-year-old Toney had been the subject of an £850,000 offer from championship outfit Bournemouth it has been claimed with Burnley said to have sent scouts to watch him at the tail end of last season.
The Northampton Chronicle & Echo 'has learned' that no offers have been made for the highly rated striker.
Assistant boss Alan Knill has also spelt out that Northampton aren't looking to sell the youngster and aren't under any financial pressure at all to offload him either but he admits he wouldn't be surprised to see interest shown next season if he starts the season well.
