Hackett Stays

Hackett Stays

Chris Hackett will still be a Northampton player next season after he agreed to a new contract.

Hackett has been at Sixfields for the past two season's and he'll now spend at least another two with the Cobblers after putting pen to paper on a new two-year contract on Monday, much to the delight of Chris Wilder.

The Northampton boss rates him as 'one of the most effective' players in league two so to get him tied down is 'excellent news'.

Wilder told the official website: 'He is one of the most effective attacking players at this level. When he plays well, we play well.

'I was really keen to keep Chris. He is a big player for us and to have got this deal tied up so early is excellent news.'

Would you agree with the boss that when Hackett plays well Northampton play well? Either way his committing his future to the club is a great thing isn't it?
