'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Team News v Dagenham

The penultimate weekend of the league season takes place this weekend with Northampton, of course, in action.

Northampton travel to Victoria Road on Saturday afternoon seeking three-points against a Dagenham & Redbridge side that don't have much to play for.

Zander Diamond can return after missing the Easter Monday defeat at Sixfields against Portsmouth.

His return give Chris Wilder a virtual full squad to select from with Ivan Toney poised to make his first start of the year.

Wilder had plenty to say on Toney, and this game of course, ahead of it. Wilder told BBC Radio Northampton: 'If we play anywhere near like we did on Monday ) we'll win. We conceded a poor goal, but after that we could have gone under, and we didn't.

'You can't kid the supporters, and they see everybody putting the lot in, leaving everything on the pitch, playing decent football and doing everything they can to get a result.

'We're really looking forward to the weekend, and we firmly believe come Saturday night we'll be out of the bottom two and our fate will be in our hands.

'Ivan Toney has definitely got a part to play this season, and I think he has a real chance and a real promising future going forward, and I'm sure that will be in the Football League.

'Dagenham will be going all out to finish in the top 10, and that would be a fantastic achievement - I think Wayne Burnett is the manager of the season in this league. Whatever team he puts out will be competitive, but I think we're in a good place right now.'
