Sinclair's Dip To Be Managed

Emile Sinclair hasn't exactly had the impact at Northampton that it would have been hoped that he would since his arrival from Peterborough United in January.

Chris Wilder admits that Sinclair needs to offer more with the performances that he was brought in for have been few and far between on the whole.

The Cobblers boss told the Chronicle & Echo: 'From my point of view, we'd like players to be playing at the top of their game, of course we want that.

'People have seen what Emile can do and unfortunately at the moment it's not going for him.

'We brought him into the club to produce performances like the ones against Torquay and Southend but these things happen.'

The 'dip in form' that Sinclair is currently undergoing ins one that he'll 'manage' a way that is best for the club, even if that means him having to sit on the bench.

Wilders priority though is that Northampton, as a team, get the results that they require in the next two games to keep them in league two.

He added: 'Emile is having a little bit of a dip and we've got to manage that.

'Whether he plays or comes off the bench, or doesn`t even get involved, I`ve got to look at the bigger picture.

'We talk to players throughout the week and we want the best out of them but it's really all about the group. We'll make a decision on Sincs but it's about how we come through the next two games as a group.'

Can Sinclair, who is meant to sign a permanent two-year contract this summer, help Northampton do what is needed to stay up?
