Marquis Re-signs But Not Bayo

Northampton lost John Marquis a couple of weeks back but Northampton have him back but failed in an attempt to re-sign Adebayo Akinfenwa.

The Cobblers lost the 21-year-old to a Millwall recall two-weeks ago but a deal has been agreed for him to come back to Sixfields until the season ends, much to Chris Wilder's delight with him disappointed at losing him previously.

Wilder told the official website: 'We're delighted to have John back.

'He gives us a physical presence at the top of the pitch and we were disappointed when he had to go back to play in the Championship.

'I thank Millwall for letting him come back and I'm sure he will help us in the next seven games.'

In his previous loan spell he made seven appearances.

While the Cobblers managed to bring back Marquis an attempt to bring Akinfenwa back to the club for a third time failed according to the Northampton Echo & Chronicle with Gillingham, where he returned for his second spell last summer, unwilling to let him go.
