Newport Boss Claims Cobblers Approach

Northampton are still looking for a new boss to replace Aidy Boothroyd, with Justin Edinburgh claiming that he was approached about the vacancy at Sixfields.

Andy King remains in caretaker charge, and has since Boothroyd's sacking in December, but if Newport boss Edinburgh is right an approach was made direct to him but not his club.

He's quoted on BBC Sport as saying: 'There's been no approach to the football club, there has been an approach to myself.

Edinburgh said that he has no intentions of leaving Rodney Road and is happy being the boss of Newport and will continue to do so.

It'll be interesting to see what, if anything, comes of this "apparent" approach but at present the Cobblers have declined to comment on his thoughts.

This site is looking for an editor (at least contributor), so if a fan can offer us a genuine opinion from someone that supports them we would love to share it with the masses!
