'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Blair Fuming With Himself

Matty Blair had a chance to make him an instant hero for Northampton at the weekend, but he missed a golden opportunity.

He certainly missed "a sitter" against his former side York, and didn't hide his disappointment at himself.

Blair told BBC Radio Northampton: 'I've got to score, haven't I? It changes the game.

'I'm fuming with myself. On your debut, you want to make a good impression. I was scrambling a little bit and didn't react quickly enough.'

Since he joined Fleetwood in the summer he's not always found it easy to get that much football and with the Cobblers giving him the chance to do this Blair has said that he wants to "repay the faith" shown in him by Andy King.

He added: 'They have brought me in because they think I'm good enough to help them out.

'I've got to repay them with that. Hopefully I can help him out.'

Scoring that goal would've helped! His attitude seems a good one though.
