'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Put It Right

The disappointing away for this season has been well documented but it's hoped that this will be put right during an incredibly busy period coming up.

Next up for Northampton are Bury, with the Cobblers off to Gigg Lane on Saturday.

Aidy Boothroyd has expressed his desire for this away form to be improved, and quickly, more than once this past week or so and is looking for this to start at Bury.

However, he is well aware that they've just appointed a new manager and this can often bring a reaction from the players.

Boothroyd told BBC Radio Northampton: 'At Chesterfield, it was a very good performance and I was pleased with us at Rochdale until the last five minutes.

'The away form needs to be much, much better but what better time to do it than in a very important part of the season?

'We're playing teams around us and we have to put it right.

'Bury have got a new manager and it'll give them a little upsurge but it's about what we do.'

Due to Izale McLeod being cup-tied (having turned out previously for MK Dons) and Stuart Dallas not being granted permission by Brentford to feature both missed the FA cup defeat against Grimsby last weekend, both should return though.

Roy O'Donovan (hernia) hasn't played since October but he's also in line to make a welcome return to the squad, if not starting XI?

It's one of those games that could, and will, be billed as a "relegation six-pointer" and that means we can ill afford to lose it.

It goes without saying a point is better than nothing but three points is needed really but I'm not sure that'll be the case....
