Get Carter

Get Carter

Darren Carter, once a £1.5m signing for West Brom from Birmingham, has joined Northampton on a two-year deal.

At 29 Carter still has plenty to offer and Aidy Boothroyd, as he told the official website, is more than happy with his new addition.

He said: 'Darren's pedigree is clear for everyone to see. I think we've got a really, really good player on our hands, he's got a great record and he's in absolutely fantastic shape.

'He has had a lot of other offers so I'm delighted we've managed to get him. He's a terrific professional, he scores goals from midfield and he's a winner.

'He has played a lot of football in the top two divisions, he is a good age and I think he will be another excellent addition to our squad.'

The midfielder has plenty of previous in the Premier League as well as the Championship, however he spent last season with Cheltenham in League One.

Carter, if he can stay fit, will prove to be an excellent addition at Sixfields.
