'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No Time Limit Given

Answers are still awaited from Luke Guttridge, Ben Harding, Ben Tozer, Nathan Cameron and Roy O'Donovan as to their intentions as far as new contracts go.

These players were among the seven offered new terms by Aidy Boothroyd.

Northampton chairman David Cardoza, as he told The Chronicle & Echo, isn't aware of a time limit given to them to sign these deals. However, he admits that the sooner they decide the better.

He said: 'That is up to Aidy because he is the man that has to get the squad together. It doesn't make a big difference to me, but ideally you do want the players to make their mind up quickly so you can move on to the targets you have.

'You are talking to your targets anyway, but you know you can`t push it over the line until you know you can actually sign them.'

Cardoza also revealed that there could be a little room to manoeuvre with the offers on the table but does believe that fair wages have already been offered.

The longer time that passes without a contract signed, the less like it is that they will. I'd imagine another couple of weeks will be given then players informed it's decision time!
