'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No Rash Moves

Now that the season has ended, decision on the futures of some players can be made.

However, as he told The Daventry Express, Aidy Boothroyd isn't going to rush into making any decisions but admits "one or two" could move around but any decisions will wait a few days: 'We've got to do a little bit of shifting and perhaps move one or two things around.

'I think it's important to take a couple of days to do that.

'You can make snap decisions after performances like that but I want to look at the full picture and make a decision.'

Given the achievements of the season, as much as possible it appears that the boss wants to keep some continuity but one or two will be brought in as improvement is looked for, adding: 'I don't think we will have a bigger squad next season but we are going to have to bring one or two in to improve where we are.

'To get from the bottom of the league to the play-off final is an achievement and I'm very cautious not to throw the baby out with the bathwater.'

It's not just as easy as deciding to keep players, some need to want to stay but I'm sure that whatever Boothroyd does this summer will be for the best of the club and will see another successful season at Sixfields next time round, with a happier end to it!

Kelvin Langmead, Adebayo Akinfenwa and Ben Tozer are all out of contract, so will be among the biggest decisions that Boothroyd needs to make.
