Northampton Boss Turns To A Familiar Face

Roy O'Donovan is a player that Aidy Boothroyd knows well from previously working with him, so he didn't hesitate in bringing him to Northampton on transfer deadline day.

The 27-year-old striker was "tracked very closely" by The Cobblers boss during his time with Colchester and he was actually signed by him when in charge of Coventry.

O'Donovan, who has topflight experience with Sunderland (when Roy Keane signed him in 2006 with him making 17 appearances for the club), will stay with the club until the end of the season after signing a short-term contract with it hoped he can keep the clubs promotion bid on track.
