Spireites spank Northampton
Chesterfield 3-0 Northampton
A goal filled 10-minute spell for Chesterfield proved the undoing of Northampton on Saturday afternoon.
Following his arrival on a permanent basis Jay O'Shea (18) marked this with a goal to open the scoring for Chesterfield early on. A minute later one become two when Marc Richards (19) added another.
A third goal, and a second for Richards (25), in 7-minute spell saw The Spireites three-nil up before the half hour mark!
Northampton rarely threatened to score, and when they had opportunities they couldn't be taken, with only a goal line clearance and the woodwork preventing Chesterfield from winning more than 3-0 in the end.
