Northampton start the year with a win

Northampton 3-1 Dagenham
1st January 2013
15:00
Sixfields

A winning start to 2013 was secured by Northampton when they beat Dagenham at Sixfields on Tuesday.

Dagenham had a couple of chances, one would have put them ahead and the other equalised. As it was an own goal from Abu Ogogo (36) gave Northampton the lead, with this quickly doubled when Chris Hackett (39) struck.

The post denied Dagenham a route back into the game before Kelvin Langmead (52) further extended the Northampton lead.

Dagenham finally reduced the deficit through Scott Doe (71), however that was merely a consolation with The Cobblers running out 3-1 winners.
