Last week David Cardoza, as he told The Northampton Chronicle, praised Aidy Boothroyd for the job he's done with Northampton since his arrival at the end of November 2011.
Upon his arrival The Cobblers were heading for non-league football, this season they are on the up and pushing for a play-off spot and a place in league one: 'He's been a fantastic signing for us and he's turned us from a club that was in - not quite disarray - but looking at the Conference, to one that is upset that we didn't win on Saturday to go third or fourth.
'There was a real fear because we were only going one way.'
It took a bit of time for Boothroyd to stamp his authority on the club, and make his mark, with the Northampton chairman knowing it would be the case, but this just proves how far the club have come: 'We knew Aidy would take some time to do well after replacing Gary Johnson and a couple of months into it we were still bottom of the league - but we've come a long way.'
What The Cobblers boss does "behind the scenes" was also praised, the things that people might not see!
Things change so quickly in football, but when credit is due it certainly needs to be given and Boothroyd deserves this just past his one-year anniversary.
