Cobblers earn a point

York 1-1 Northampton
6th November 2012
19:45
Bootham Crescent

Northampton fought back to earn a point against York at Bootham Crescent on Tuesday evening.

York opened the scoring midway through the first half when Matty Blair (23) put the hosts ahead. Not only did Northampton go into the break a goal down they were also a man down when John Johnson was sent off shortly before the interval for a poor challenge.

The 10-men Cobblers pushed for a second half equalizer and this eventually came just before the hour when Adebayo Akinfenwa (58) scored a simple tap in.

Neither side could force a winner, with York coming closest with the bar denying Blair a second, so the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
