'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Apology accepted

John McCombe offered up an apology to Aidy Boothroyd following the weekend win for Northampton against Port Vale, which was tainted by his foul on Alex Nicholls.

McCombe's challenge resulted in him being sent off but more importantly Nicholls suffering a double leg break.

Boothroyd has revealed that McCombe offered this apology, which he accepted: 'I know he didn't mean to cause the damage that he did, sometimes these things do happen.

'John came to find me after the game and apologised, and I accept that.'

I think The Cobblers' boss sums it up about right really, doesn't he?
