Cobblers fightback to advance

Northampton 2-1 Colchester
Johnstone's Paint Southern 2nd Round
9th October 2012
19:45
Sixfields Stadium

Northampton came from behind to knock Colchester out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday night.

A goal from Freddie Sears (31), just after the half hour mark, was enough to send Colchester into the break a goal to the good and with one foot in the next round.

Shortly after the restart two-goals in two-minutes turned the game on it's head, and in Northampton's favour.

Adebayo Akinfenwa's (52) penalty levelled for the hosts with Henoc Mukendi (54) putting The Cobblers ahead minutes later with them seeing through a 2-1 win.
