Pirates slay Cobblers

Bristol Rovers 3-1 Northampton
6th October 2012

The Memorial Stadium

Northampton paid the price of losing a player to a sending off and also a key man to injury when they were beaten at Bristol Rovers on Saturday afternoon.

At half time the sides were level but Northampton were down to 10-men when Anthony Charles was sent off midway through the first half.

Shortly after the break two quick goals from Tom Eaves (53) and Garry Kenneth (57) saw Bristol Rovers two-goals to the good before the hour.

Adebayo Akinfenwa (75) gave Northampton hope late on but with time running out the hosts secured a 3-1 win when Oliver Norburn (84) scored.
