Jake Robinson took some time out on his summer break from football to answer some questions for us here at Vital Northampton..
Q) What has been the best moment of your career to date?
A) Scoring a hatrick for Brighton at Huddersfield in a 3-0 win, and both sets of fans applauding me off was pretty special.
Q) If you could score an injury time winner against any team who would it be and why?
A) Got to say Spurs as a big Arsenal fan.
Q)Best Ground you have played at is..?
A) Old Trafford in the league 2 play off final, shame it wasn't Wembley though.
Q) And the worst..?
A) I have never had a good day at Accrington, also Hereford is pretty poor. I hate Darlington for the lack of atmosphere too.
Q) Which attribute of yours do you feel needs most work?
A) I wish I had worked harder on my left foot growing up. And I think I could be fitter, which is something I have worked hard on the last year.
Q) Ever thought about quitting the game for a 'normal` career?
A) No I know how lucky I am to be doing what I do, and when things are going well its hard to imagine there is anything better in the world. That's not to say I haven't given consideration to careers after football though.
Q) What do you plan to do with your life when you finally hang up the boots?
A) If I do anything within football it will probably be more media based then the coaching side of things. Can see myself doing some physiotherapy as well.
Q) Out of your NTFC team mates, who has the worst dress sense and what sort of clobber do they wear?
A) Current squad, probably Ben Tozer. He wears things that were fashionable about 10 years ago. Although he is probably the height of fashion in Plymouth!
Q) And worst Musical tastes?
A) Tough one, it was Greg Kaziboni and his gospel tunes, but as he has left I will give it to Nana for his Ghanaian tunes!
Q) Who is the worst trainer at Northampton, If it`s Bayo then pick the next worst…!
A) Last season, Toni Silva, easy choice, don't think I saw him break into a jog at any point. Haven't seen the boys train yet this year though.
Q) The FA ask you to make one improvement to the game of football in England, what would you do? (could be bringing in the sin bin, changing a law etc)
A) I would make it a red card offence to be Joey Barton. Then I would remove linesmen because I think they guess half the time anyway. Most of all though I would stop defenders shielding the ball out of play from forwards, when they have no interest in the ball, just blocking the player, that would be a 5 match ban.
Q) John Terry or Rio Ferdinand?
A) Not a big JT fan so will go Rio.
Q) Pro Evo or Fifa
A) I'm terrible at football games now but used to be pretty good at PES.
Q) Apple or Android
A) I have never had an Android product, so I better say Apple. Got an iphone and ipad.
Q) Who is the greatest football manager of all time?
A) Probably Fergie although I'm loathed to say so.
Q) If I gave you an Elephant where would you hide it?
A) Depends who I'm hiding it from? Would probably keep it away from Alexandra Burke she seems able to spot them pretty well.
Q) If invited, would you go into the Big Brother house?
A) Yeah definitely, reckon I'm interesting enough to make it to the last few.
Q) What was your first car? And what are you driving Currently?
A) Had a peugeot 206 which I think I still owe my parents money for! Then went onto a Mini Cooper S, currently driving a BMW 320i. The Mini was my favourite by a long way.
Q) Who is your idol, apart from Fernando Torres of course?
A) I have always really admired Lance Armstrong for obvious reasons. From a footballing sense growing up I wanted to be Michael Owen.
Q) Funniest moment on a football pitch?
A) That Moshni dude at Southend when he was given offside and just kept running to the corner flag and booted it out the ground. That guy is nuts.
